Middle Georgia Chess Club will host the Middle Georgia Spring Open chess tournament Saturday May 9th, in Byron Georgia. EVENT OVERVIEW Five rounds, Swiss system, USCF rated. Two sections: Open (1400+): Open to USCF rated 1400+. Reserve (U1400): Open to USCF rated under 1400 and Unrated. Sections will be assigned based on players’ Regular ratings published on official USCF website. All participants must be registered USCF members. Memberships can be applied for on-site. Membership costs depend on age and are separate from the registration cost of this tournament. Prizes: 100% of proceeds go to winners. Prizes are based on 40 registrations. Open section: 1st $360, 2nd $240, 3rd $140. Reserve section: 1st $240, 2nd $140, 3rd $80. Time control: 30 minutes per game with 5 second bonus per move. USCF dual-rated (Regular and Quick).
