Middle Georgia Fall Fest G30, Saturday, November 9, 2024
Congratulations are in order for the winners of the Middle Georgia Fall Fest tournament yesterday! Both sections were won by members of the Middle Georgia Chess Club, Daniel Gentry, 1st place Open Section and Shash Ravi, 1st place, Reserve Section! Additionally for the Open Section, Doc Roberson (club) took 2nd, while Tom Tran (club) and William Remick (Georgia Chess Association rep) shared 3rd. For the Reserve Section, Stephen Hester and Alex Herberth, 2 members of the Georgia Southwestern University chess club tied for 2nd and 3rd. It was a wonderful day of chess. The Middle Georgia Chess Club will host the Middle Georgia Fall Fest chess tournament Saturday November 9th, 2024, 10am start.
Event Overview:
Five rounds, Swiss System, USCF rated.
Two sections: Open (1400+): Open to USCF rated 1400+. Reserve (U1400): Open to USCF rated under 1400 and Unrated. Sections will be assigned based on players Regular ratings published on official USCF website (https://new.uschess.org/player-search). All participants must be registered members of US Chess Federation. Membership can be applied for on-site. Membership cost for USCF depends on age ($20-40) and is separate from the registration cost of this tournament.
Prizes: 100% of proceeds go to winners. Prizes based on 40 registrations. Open: 1st $300, 2nd $240, 3rd $144. Reserve: 1st $240, 2nd $180, 3rd $96.
Time Control: G/30, increment 0, USCF dual-rated (Regular and Quick).

Byes: 1/2-point byes available. Must request before 9:45am. 0-point byes available any time for any round.
Equipment: Players are encouraged, but not required, to bring their own chess clocks.
